It is probable, stated the Mayor, Mr. R. A. Wright, this morning, that a start will be made with . the actual tunnelling work at Northland in about a fortnight. The .heavy preliminary work, mainly in the building of a reinforced concrete retaining wall, is advanced sufficiently t<. enable boring operations to be commenced.
