(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. COPYRIGHT ) (Received 28th January, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Lindsay Mines, of the Mosman Swimming Club, dashed over fifty yards in 23 1-5 seconds, clipping three-fifths of a second off A, Wickham's record. It is understood, however, that recordbreaking conditions were hot observed. The record referred to is probably an Australian one, as the World's- record for i 50 yards is held by Duke Kahanamoku who, on 13th March, 1915, at Auckland' covered the distance in 22 3-ssec. He repeated the time on 7th June, 1923, at Los Angeles. John WeismuUer did 50 yards in 22 4-ssec at Honolulu in August, 1922.
