PARAMOUNT THEATRE.

Long before 7 p.m. on Saturday night large crowds were waiting for ildmis;sion to the Paramount Theatre, and when the performance of *Long Tack Sam and his amazing troupe of Chinamen and women Commenced, the theatre was packed with c a,large audience. {The horizontal bar work done by two muscular members of the troupe was a revelation. Nothing like that act has been seen in. Wellington,. and the" audience showed its appreciation in a convincing manner. The beauty of the scene—silks'1 and satins and lovely colours—is astonishing, and when to this is added skill I of the highest, order, it is no wonder that this marvellous company has achieved success. Long Tack Sam, himself a great artist, has a delightful stage personality, that presents an entirely new side of the Oriental. - His genial manner and remarkable showmanship contribute largely to the success attendant on; the performance. Two charming little Chinese maids, daughters of Long Tack Sam, have mastered the intricacies of stage dancing to a degree that surprises and delights. Supsporting the Chinese stars 'is a fine Tom Mix picture from.Zane Grey's famous novel, "The Lone Star Ranger." The box plans for the season are now open at the Utility, adjoining the theatre, or seats may be reserved by phoninsr the theatre.' Tho afternoon sessions will, be exactly the same as in the evening.'
