A practical joke played on the Bishop of bodor and Mann caused a sensation in the Isle of Man. The Bishop received a hoaxing telegram summoning him to the mainland, which compelled him to abandon a speech in the local Parliament on the Manx Church Assembly Bill. The ("'/n^'u™ 1' at Marathan, confessed that he had instigated the sending of the -elegram; The disclosure shocked church circles.
