EMPHATIC PROTEST
COST OP V.D. CLINIC.
Notification has been received by the Hospital Board from the Director-Gen-eral of Health that after Ist April nest the Department will not bear the cost of the V.D. clinic.
The board decided yesterday that a reply "be sent embodying the board's most emphatic protest against the action of the Government, who started the work as a national campaign, which has in no way altered since; and, as the special subsidy payable under the Hygiene Act has been withdrawn, it is considered that the Government should continue what it instituted.
"This clinic," reported the Hospital Committee, "is doing excellent work, and thero should be no talk of discontinuing it."
