BIG INCREASE IN TONNAGE
HANDLED,
In placing before members of the Harbour Board figures, showing imports and exports for the month of December, theiChairman, Mr. G. Mitchell, last evening'remarked upon the big increase on the figures for the corresponding month of 1922, for while there were slight de-. creases in on» or two classes of goods handled, ths total tonnage in and out ■was,over 25,000 tons above that for December, 1922. Total increase in cargo tonnage over that for December, 1922, 25,268 tons. Total net tonnage of vessels arriving December, 289,030 (202,476); of vessels arriving during quarter ended December 751,429,(579,408).
