NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. «. A serious accident occurred on the* Awakino Valley road yesterday, about three.miles south of Mahoenui, when a motor-car went over a bank and fell about forty feet to the water's edge. The driver, Mr. W. E. J. Canon, \vas thrown into deep water, and sustained serious concussion. He was rescued by the ladies of the party, and brought to the New Plymouth "Hospital in a critical condition. The other occupants —four ladies and two children—escaped pr^Mcally unhurt. . .-.
