CHARLTON NOT GOING TO HOBART

(Received 23rd January, 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. "Boy" Charlton has been selected as a member of the New South Wales team to compete at the Australian championships at Hobart, but it is not expected that he will compete. .It is stated that he intends to indulge in exhibition swims only.
Last Friday it was announced by cable that Charlton intended to have a thorough rest. His father stated that he intended to restrain his son's swimming activities until he had reached manhood's estate. Charlton is only 16 years of age, and has been swimming against men—and beating them badly— during the past eighteen, months.
