GUARANTEE TOWARDS DOMINION
TEAM'S VISIT.
(Received 23rd January, 2 p.m.) SUVA, This Day. The Fiji Cricket Association has guaranteed £300 towards the expenses of a Dominion team touring Fiji during April and May.
Mr. Walter Harvie, an Auckland player, who has 1 been proininent in Fiji cricket during the past two years, has been interesting himself in the^ matter of a. tour by a team comprising Auckland and Wellington cricketers to the Islands. Early in January it was stated in a message from the Auckland correspondent of "The Post" tnUt several Wellington players had sent applications to be included in the team, but such is understood to be incorrect, .though' several players are certainly anxious to be included. It is proposed that, the team shall leave Auckland on 29th March by the Tofua for Suva, later visiting Lautoka, Bau, Levuka, and f enang, at each of which places it is proposed to play matches;- A Test match will probably be played on the return to Levuka, and another Test is set down for Suva whenv the team gets back there. The team will catch the Niagara at Suva, and will be back in Auckland on 25th April.
