Oppressive heat marked the annua, meeting o£ the Masberton Amateur Athletic Club. The attendances was not as good as in previous'years. The Wellington contingent were prominent, -in the various events. :E, A.'.Rose, the wellknown distance runner, was defeated in the mile event, only securing third place, though his time, was 4min ;26sec.
