(Received 31st December, noon.)
DUBLIN, 30th December
It is announced that the Government has jdecided to reorganise the Free State Army, taking the French- Army as, a model. The Ministry of Finance has decided that the military expenditure must be limited to £4,000,000. The result of the reorganisation. will be a- standing army of about 20j000.
A special training college will be established, with a view to expansion in the case of emergency. The heavy demobilisations which have already occurred,- combined with the release of over ten thousand prisoners, are likely to put a severe strain on the labour market, but this will be met to some extent by a- proposal of the Dail to grant'immediately £2,000,000' for emergency works. .
