"CHRISTMAS CHEER" CONCERT AT HUTT.
■ Great interest attaches to the annual concert and dance at the Upper Hutt Town Hall this evening, to swell the "Christmas; Cheer" Fund for the children in the' big orphanage. This function, which is always looked forward to, promises to easily eclipse all previous endeavours. The dance recital by Air. Joe Knowsle.y's clever pupils will consist of about' fourteen items —a ealaxy of colour blended with clever talent —the costuming of the groups having received special attention. Commencing punctually at 7.30, item will promptly succeed item, and on account of the length of programme, no encores will be permitted. A number of selected items from Upper Hutt artists also appear on the programme, and the recital will conclude with a humorous musical ballet and dialogue by the combined groups ot dance pupils. The Hutt Band will render a series of latest musical numbers prior to the concert. Special lighting is being installed in the hall to give limelight effects. Late leave has been iipplioil for for the sailors from the Chatham and Laburnum, who are in Ciimp. and with the excellent arrangements for the dance music, as also for the supper, a record house is assured.
