VISIT TO H.M.S. CHATHAM
About 250 children from St. Joseph's Orphanage, Upper Hutt, visited H.M.S. Chatham yesterday afternoon, at the invitation of Commander Beal. The arrangements in connection wilh the visit were in the hands of the, Wellington branch of the Navy League, and members of the committee and the ladies' auxiliary met the children at Lambton Station, and conducted them to the warship. On board the Chatham the children were shown over the ship in small groups, by the officers and men. They were afterwards entertained at tea by the Navy League at the Star Boating Club, the ladies' auxiliary ' and the girls' branch attending to the guests. The visit was successfully carried out, and the children returned to the Upper Hutt after spending a very enjoyable afternoon.
