THE QUARRY MURDER
CONFESSION OF PRISONER.

SYDNEY, 12th December. At the inquest on George Simpson, who was found with his. throat cut'in a quarry at Minnamarra, the medical ovidence showed that the wound was inflicted from behind, and that death, must have been instantaneous. It was also shown that Alfred Murray and William Hmes, the men arrested, were las* seen in Simpson's company. The Coroner found that death was caused by a wound maliciously inflicted by Murray, and exonerated Hines. The police produced a statement made by Murray, in which it is alleged he, charged Simpson with foolin X with married women. Simpson attempted to strike him,' he said, adding, "Then I went mad, and pulled a knife avrosa Simpsons throat." Murray declared that Hmes had nothing to do with the quarrel, and wa.s perfectly innocent.
