The sale was the first of the season at which exporters were operating, and there was a large attendance of farmers on that account. The lamb market was particularly keen. Store Sheep.—A brighter sale duey to some extent, to the breaking of the lengthly dry spell. Wethers were better by Is to Is 6d per head. Good aged ewes and lambs made 22s 6d, all counted ordinary aged ewes and lambs 17s 4d, to 20s 6d; inferior aged ewes and lambs 14s 6d; good aged rape ewes, 15s to 15s 9d; aged and inferior ewes, 14s lOd; crossbred two.tooth ewes, 27s Id. Good four-toothed wethers, 24s 7d to 26b; inferior two and four-toothed wetherß, 20s 9d to four and six-toothed halfbred wethers, 25s 3d; crossbred four and six-toothed wethers, 22s Id to 22g 2d. Sound mouthed crossbred ewes, 235. Fat Lambs.—3ss4 were penned, a very heavy yarding for the first export sale of the season. There was a keen demand, and average prices were on a basis of 9^d per lb, with numerous lines •up to 9jd; seconds and overweights 9|d. Butchers paid to near lOd occasionally^ Extra prime made 32s 6d to 345, special 36s 6d, prime 30s to 32s 6d medium 27s 6d to 29s 6d, light 24s to 275.
