LOWER HUTT GAS BOARD
A meeting of ths Lower Hutt Ga» Lighting Board was held yesterday. Present: Messrs. W. J. Lodder (chairman), A. Anderson, J. Piper, W. Hay, A. J. Hobbs, and W. T., Strand. \
The Town Clerk, Lower Hutt,. wrot« acknowledging receipt of the debentures to the value of £1585.
The Land Officer, New. Zealand Railways, forwarded' a, deed for . execution by the board consolidating the ■various permits issued in respect to both boroughs for the laying of'gas mains beneath the railway line.. !
The gas manager reported that for the month 14 1 new services had been installed arid 14-gas'cookers sold. An inspection of the Petone and Lower Hutt boroughs was made on 30th November: Only two lamp's were not burning .satis' factorily in. Lower Hutt, but at Petone he found that the whole of the lamps from Queen street south to the railway crossing, and to side streets from' the esplanade to Jackson street, as well as several in 'various parts of the borough, were unfit, totalling 32. It was decided that the next meeting be held oh 15th January, 1924. . ;
