A NOTED ATHLETE
DEATH OF GERALD KEDDELL.
(BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
INVERCAP.GILL, This Day. The death occurred this morning, after a long illness, of Gerald P. Keddell, the well-known athlete. -He held amateur records in hurdling and long jumps.
G. P. Keddell has many fine achievements to his credit, especially when representing Otago and Southland. He was an athlete of the steady type, always cool, and yet always capable of getting to the tape.. Those who recollect the remarkable performance, when he put up a record after a poor start in a 120 yards hurdles event in the South, have, sufficient evidence of his strong determination. He ran and jumped solely for love of the sport, and, win or lose, he always enjoyed the race. Since returning fro m the war his. health had been indifferent, and his'late illness was thought to be largely due to war service.
