A FURTHER GRANT
FOR DUNEDIN MEDICAL SCHOOL.
(BJ TELEGRAPH.—PRE&S ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, This Day. The Director of. Education has notified the University Council that a further grant of £7000 or £8000 will be made for the new Medical School above the £76,000 approved already. In reply to a query if the fcomniittee has not yet agreed to call for tenders {or both the Medical and Dental Schools, the chairman (Mr. T. K. Sidey) said he had sought by telegram to.get authority from the Minister of Education to call for tenders for the Dental School, but had received a- reply that the Minister, would hot return to New Zealand till 26th December, and regretting that no authority could be given until the Minister had seen the Dental School documents. ."I am bound to say," said Mr, Sidey, "that it is extremely irritating that the Minister should leave Ihe country for something like two months without leaving anyone in authority in his Department.
