SCHOOL INSPECTORS
INTERCHANGES TO BE MADE.
With a view to interchanges of experience and opinions regarding education in the various districts, the Education Department, in a communication to the Wellington Education Board to-day, announced that during, the months of April, May, and June, the senior inspectors would be temporarily transferred as follow:—Mr. G. W. Garrard, "from Auckland to Dunedin; Mr. W. W. Bird Napier to Auckland; Mr. F. G. Stuckey, Wangariui to, Christchurch; Mr. W. Brockj Christchurch to Wellington ; Mr. A. L. Wylie, Invercargill to iSf ew Plyriiouth; Mr. T. R. Flemming, Biinedin ,to Invefeargill; Mr. T. A. Valentine, New Plymouth to Nelson ; Mr. G. Pitcaithy, Nelson to Napier; Mr. F. H. Bakewell, Wellington to Wangariui. . Mr. G. T. London suggested that this' iriight mean difficulty in case of appointHierits, in view of the visiting inspector hot having knowledge of local teachers, Who might be required for special appointments outside the grading list. The chairman pointed out that the other inspectors were not being changed, aiid they would linoW tlie teachers. I In reply to a question the chairman stated that it had been mooted that Mr. fiakewell was. about to. retire, but there had been nothing official announced. The Department's action was approved.
