OVERHAULING THE DUCHESS.
Satisfactory progress is being • made with the external overhaul of the ferry steamer Duchess, and tho new funnels have- now been installed. ■It i s hoped to have enough of the work finished to enable the vessel to be put into commission for the week-end preceding Christmafi.
Last month with its fine weather was a busy one for the ferry authorities, and ,= n ™ al ,and Cobar carried a total of ll'lll Pe°& ' Whioh ia an increase of 24,000 on the passengers carried for November of last year.
