PETONE

The Petone Rifle Club fired the third competition, first series, on Saturday, at ranges 300 and 600 yards. The conditions ■were fairly good, a strong right wind and changeable light being' at times puzzling. At 300 yards D. Guiney signalled Jnis reappearance with top score of 45. including a "bird," and several others made 44. At 600 yards R. H. Nicholl, firing consistently, topped with 44, and made the highest totui for the day, viz., 88 points. The spoon winners are R. H. Nicholl, R. E. flaws, and R. Askew, the scores being: —
