GYMNASTIC COMPETITIONS

The first annual gymnastic competition in connection with the V.M.C.A., Khandallah classes, was held at the JKhandallah Town Hall on Wednesday last. Mr. J. A. Duffy acted as judge. Competition was keen, and at the conclusion Mr. Duffy congratulated the classes on their excellent showing. He paid a tribute to the work of the assistant instructors, Miss Ayling and Mr. B. Steptoe, who have conducted the classes throughout the season. The results are :—Ladies' gym. championship: Miss A. Clark, 93 points, 1; Miss & Smith, 21, 2. Girls 1 gym. championship: Miss Marjorie Laurenson, 90 points, 1; Miss Grace .Hayes, 89, 2. Boys' gym. championship i F. Kelly, 85 points, 1; T. Thompsett, 75, 2. Occasion was taken by the members of wig boys class to present Mr. Steutoe with a fountain pen.
