There was glorious weather for the conclusion of the third round of the senior grade championship matches. Linwood retained their lead in the championship by beating. Riccarton comfortably, while Sydenham improved their position by getting a threepoint win against St. Albana. West Christchurch beat East Christchurch, but only with a two-point win. The championship points are now as follow : Linwood 8 : . Sydenham 6 Riccarton:; 4 West Christchurch 3 East Christchurch 0 St. Albans 0 Riccarton, in the second innings, declared with eight wickets down for 161 (H. B. Whitta not out 33 and Fuller 21), G. 'W. Russell took six wickets for 69., Linwood, in the first innings, made 194 (Boon 50, F. A. Smith 35, Spaan not out 24). Langbein took four wickets for 55, and Powell two for 38. In tha second innings they have three down for 81 (Smith not out 31 and Boon 21). St. ' Albans, in the first innings, made 113 (Crawford not out 48 and Thomas 17). Cunningham took six wickets for 45, D. M'Beth three for 49, and J. M'Ewin one for 8. In the second innings they made 164 (Norrie 35, Woods 28, Brunton 28). J. M'Ewin took five wickets for 47, Cunningham three for 45: Requiring 10 to win, Sydenham made them without loss.

East Christchurch, in the first innings, made, 199 (Bugg 44, Flood not out 32, Gregory 22). Cocks took five wickets for 34, R. C. Blunt three for 43. In the second innings they have lost six wickets for 73i (Gregory not out 30). Findlay took four wickets for 19.
