GISBOBN-E, This Day. The Honi J. G. Coates, Minister of Public Works, arrived overland from Napier last evening, and left this^ morning for the Waiapu district. Returning to Gisborne on Monday, the Minister leaves for the Urewera Country, via Hangaroa. from local bodies presented district requirements in road and railway matters, strongly ureing the authorised Hangaroa routo for flic railway from Gieborne southwards, in preference to the coastal route now being surveyed. The Minister declared the position required thorough and considerate, thought and not bustle where the expenditure of a million pounds'was involved. It was absolutely essential that care should be taken until the surveys were completed. He could say no more.
