Wallace, has attempted, under the pro. visions of recent Federal lawa govern, ing stockyards, to place Government auditors in the craC c s of tho packing companies with powers to investigate and^ publish all facts concerning their business.

Mr. Wallace claims that the nation is vitally concerned with the packers' activities, and should be informed in regard to them.

The Swift, Cudahy, and Nelson Com. pames have refused access to the auditors, declaring their approach. an invasion ot constitutional rights. It is expected that the Armour and Morris Companies will adopt the gams procedure, and the case : will be fought in the Uourts. . .
