AUCKLAND. Thu Day. The impression gathered by W. 0. Wiles, of Auckland, while in ths United Btates recently, was that pricee for petrol were now as low as they were likely to go. Mr. Wiles returned by the Makura, and in explaining this view he said that many of the oil •well* which had promised big returns three months ago had diminished grectly, and were unlikely to contribute much to the supply- of high-grade motive oils. When, reminded that there had been.rocent announcements of reductions in the United States, Mr. Wiles said that these affected low-grade, oils, which could not be used to any extent in this country. -:
