During the next ten years New. South Wales has 10ar.% falling due. in Sydney and in London amounting toi. £100v,508,----000. These must not only be redeemed or. renewed, but, in addition, the State must raise whatever loans may be required! during that period for developmental works—approximately £10,000,----000 to £12,000,000 annually. Of this huge sum about £20,000,000 was raised at from 3 per cent, to 4 per cent.; £23,----000,000 at more than 4 per cent, and up to 5 per cent.,' and £57,000,000 at s^. Si, and 5J per cent. No less than.£3B,': 000,000 falls due in 1924-25 in Sydney and London. The State public debt, which on 30th June, 1922,'5t00d at £180,796,000, increased during the last ■financial year by £7,033,000.
