NE TEMERE BILL

SYDNEY, This Day. _ Ihe Assembly passed the first reading, of the Ne Temere Decree BUI by 47 votes to 34.. After a lively discussion on the question of leave to introduce the BUI, the Minister of Justice, the Hoii John Ley, explained that the Bill did not aim at the doctrinal teachings of any church, but was intended to prevent persons from impugning marriages lawfully contracted.
The Bill will be discussed in detail at the second reading.
