BRITISH GIRL MIGRANTS
HAPPY IN THESE DOMINIONS.
m- m I 01" 21st November. Miss Gladys Potts, a member of the Overseas Emigration Mission, in an interview, said she found the vast majority of British girl migrants in Australia and New Zealand well contented with their- lot, and especially with the greater freedom, better climatic conditions, and higher wages. "I am strongly against allowing girls to go to the Dominions merely for the sake of finding husbands, '* declared Miss Potts. /'The girl who goes with that idea xs not the type that Australia and New Zealand want, but the girl who is ready to work will find plenty of opportunities to marry, as Australia has not two million more women than men like Britain.
'Self-reliant girls, in the Dominions have an opportunity of climbing the ladder in a much shorter time than here. Uirls are not so prejudiced socially \by entering domestic service in the Dominions as in Britain."
