CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER
(CKITBD PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPTRIOBT.) MELBOURNE, 22nd November Lancelot Johnson, who is alleged to aive killed an ex-policeman named Harding, ■ has been committed for trial on a charge of manslaughter.
In the eariy hours of the morning Johnson, a. boarder in a wine saloon, neard sounds of somebody forcing an entry. He went to the kitchen armed with a revolver, and saw a man who proved to. be an ex-policeman, Leonard Harding, entering. . He fired, mortally wounding Harding, who was a friend of his.
Johnson was at first charged with murder. -
