LONDON, 22nd NovemberThere were rowdy scenes at Mr. Winston Churchill's first meeting at Leicester, owing to the la&c of police.-'The' mob rushed the hall, go that ticketholders' , seats were taken. When Mr. Churchill appeared, it ws 3 evident that i big hostile element wag present. He described the election as an ampush election. In three hours the Cabinet had decided to make this wild plunge. It was a good thing for Mr. Baldwin's reputation as an holiest man that he did not realise how sharp were the tactics hi? party was employing. If tlie Conservatives came into power there would be a desperate fight over tariffs, and the lobbies would be crowded with representatives of the various industries.
