CLAYTON—EVANS.

A very pretty wedding was solemnised at Wesley Church on Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. C. Eaton officiating, ■when Gwen, youngest daughter of Mrs. E. Evans, Elizabeth street, was married to Henry Renata Clayton, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton, of Gisborne. The,bride, who-wag given away by Mr. H. Oscar Hewitt, wore a charming gown of. shell pink brocaded 1 satin, trimmed with piqk pearls and draried on one! side with a cluster of silver posies; a handsome veil, arranged in mob cap effect, with coronet of orange blossom, was worn, and she carried a shower bouquet of roses, carnations, and sweet peas. Miss Eleanora Geere-Watson was maid of honour, wearing a dainty frock of shot apricot de soie, with long-waisted bodice of embossed velvet in deeper shade; her hat was of black silk French chenille lace, with jet and ospreys. Miss Ray Bond, niece of the bride, was bridesmaid. She wore a frock of maize desoie, black hat, trimmed with maize ribbco, and apricot posies. They carried bouquets of cream and apricot coloured roses. Two dainty flower girls, Zoe Tocker. and Gwen Evans, also attended the bride, wearing frocks of embroidered organdie muslin and pink ribbons, ihe bridegroom's presents to the bridesmaids were gold bangles. Mr. Jack Curtis was best man, and Mr. E. F. Guy nmsman. The church was tastefully _rated, with lilies and palms. Tne service was fully choral, Mr. H. Temple' White officiating at the organ. The reception was held afterwards in Wesley Hall T.here the usual toasts were honoured, and many congratulatory speeches made, showing the esteem in which the happy, couple are held. -Mrs. Evans (mother of the bride) was gowned in navy crepe de chine, handsomely beaded with steel, her hat being of kingfisher blue lace and pink roses. Mrs Clayton (mother of the bridegroom) wora nigger brown with hat to match; Mrs. tvans (Gisborne), mole crepe de chine; Mrs. Bond (sister of the bride), shot mauve and blue marocain; Mrs G Hope-Tocker (Hawera), biscuit silk, relieved with blue; Mrs. Geere-Watson amber crepe d e chine, embroidered in black and crinoline hat to match. Later, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton left for the South' the bride wearing a three-piece suit of goblin blue, tricoline braided with smart blue and fawn shot silk, and hat to match.
