RED CROSS EXECUTIVE MEETS.

A meeting of the executive of the JNew Zealand branch of the British Red Cross and Order of St. John was held on Wednesday afternoon in the Red Cross Chambers,. Dixon street. Mr L 0 H Iripp presided. It was announced that the War Fund Council had agreed to refund to the Red Cross the cost of repairing buildings taken over from the V.M.C.A. Mr. Tripp reported that a sub-com-mittee, consisting of Sir Heaton Rhodes, Mr. • Robertson, and himself, had invested a sum of £25,000 in the Public Irust at 5 per cent. This was approved by the meeting. Dr. Collins wrote that he would be leaving England for Ne<v Zealand on the 27th December. He suggested that •■ Dr. Colquhoun be appointed as Red Cross Commissioner in London, vice Mr. Waldegrave, who was resigning. This suggestion was approved, and a letter oi appreciation, of;. Mr. Waldegrave's services was drafted. ' : A report was received from the Director of Red Cross .Societies,, contain-., ing reference to many of the matters' to be discussed at the forthcoming conference of Red Cross bodies in Paris. Tho letter asked if the dates, 28th April to 2nd-May, would suit the New Zealand delegates. It .was resolved .to cir- ■ culate the letter among the other centres. Mr. T. Munt, Mr. Bernard Tripp, and Dr. Colquhoun were appointed New Zealand delegates. It was decided that Mr. Galloway should go to Eotorua to superintend the disposal of Red Cross equipment, com- j prising the stock of the Red Cross Club there. The Rev. Mr. Mullineux's time, as Red Cross agent at 1 Calais, was extended for: another twelve months, as there was still: a great number of pilgrims visiting the soldiers' graves. The meeting approved the renewal of the £50 subscription to the Red Cross • League. '.
