CARTERTON, This Day. On Sunday seventeen candidates were
presented to the Bishop at St. John's Church, Featherston, for confirmation.
It is understood that a number of farmers in the Waihapeke district are interesting themselves in the formation of a butter factory.
During the summer months the Carterton Borough Council will not permit the use of garden hoses or sprinklers unattended.
At a meeting of the Carterton School Committee last night the headmaster reported a roll number of 342 in the primary department and 37 in the secondary. Mr. C. H. Olsen was appointed sc-i.on-dary assistant. Messrs. J. W. Headerson and J. Preddy were appointed delegates to the school Library Committee. The Featherston Croquet Club's -:h.impionship has been won by Mrs. WicUons, with Mrs. Carlyon second. The "R" competition was won by Mrs. Itea. with Mrs. Tutbury second.
