SHORTT'S THEATRE.

Jules Verne's "Round the World in -Eighty Days" excited enough comment in its -time/ but it is completely outdone by the film' "Round the World in Kighty Minutes," now screening at ahortt s Theatre. Moreover, one sees, the places spoken of in the book, places of historical and national interest, such as London, New York, Naples, Paris, and) even' "Berlin*' The journey commences from Wellington, , and depicts lite on board ship, with the old-time ceremonies of crossing the Line with the attention of Father Neptune and his satellites.-. An interesting portion of the him shows working a vessel through the Panama Canal: From New York's skyscrapers the audience is carried across .the Atlantic to Piccadilly and the Strand, and from there the journey is continued to the. boulevards of Paris and_th'enee td the magnificent buildings of Berlin. On the homeward voyape a call is made at Naples, then Suez Aden, and finally to Colombo, wher c a tour, is made of the beautiful gardens typical of the Orient; Fremantle, Melbourne, and Sydney are visited, and at last the audience embarks at Sydney for the final stage of the'journey to Auckland. The film is educational, and should on no account be missed by that large majority of people who cannot afford actual travelling. Also on the programme is an interesting Fox Gazette, and a clever comedy, "High and Dry." °
