SHORTT'S THEATRE.

A remarkable picture will occupy the leading place on the programme at Shortt's Theatre to-day. Under the title of "Around the World in 80 Minutes," the audience is taken on a tour round the world, including visits to many interesting places. The film was produced in New Zealand, and includes scenes in Wellington as well as in the principal capitals of the new and the old worlds. Pictures pf the Panama .and Suez canals give a delightful idea of these arteries of commerce, while the skyscrapers of New York are compared with the business centres of England. Scenes in Paris are included, supplemented "by views of battlefields made famous by the / World War. Doullens, where the New Zealand army headquarters was situated, is also shown. Included are scenes in German cities and of the Rock of Gibraltar. During the journey many notable men are seen, including Sir Thomas Mackenzie and Charles ' Chaplin. Starting at Wellington, the picture ends at Auckland, after having visited most of tho Australian States on the voyage home. Supporting this great picture, which is the finest scenic-industrial film ever shown in New Zealand, the programme includes a Clyde Cook comedy entitled "High and Dry," one of the funniest of pictures. A Topical Gazette includes interesting world happenings, and the music has the charm of representing many countries, making it suitable to the picture screened.
