The Pacific Cable Board is expected to discuss to-morrow the question ot duplicating the Bamfield-Fiji section, ii. conjunction with the expert's report on wireless possibilities. There is likely to be a tussle over the appointment of a successor to Sir Henry Babington Smith, there being considerable diversity of opinion regarding certain names suggested.
