LOCAL CENTRE'S ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of delegates to the Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association was held in the Y.iI.C.A. rooms last evening. .Mr. T. Eonayne, 1.5.0., presided. . The annual report referred to the fact that two new dubs (Petone and Olympic) affiliated during the past season. Nearly all the town clubs and all the country clubs held successful carnivals during the season. Pleasure was expressed at the action of the City Council m deciding to establish tepid baths in -Mercer street and baths in Murphy street. In connection with the latter baths, regret was expressed that greater■ provision had not been made for accomm°dating the public at carnivals. lne report and balance-sheet were nlta Wltnout discussion. Coira; handicapper, Mr. J Calnan; two members of the executive, Messrs. P. Coira and F. Chapman • delegate to N.Z.A.S.A., Mr. B. O'Neill It was decided to approach the Wellington City Council with a view to obtaining concessions in the matter of season tickets at the baths. The centre approved of the Wellington Club's proposal to hold a carnival on Christmas Day.
