MANAGING DIRECTOR RESIGNS.
Mr. W. G. M'Donald, managing director, Distributors, Ltd., ends his connection with that company to-day. He will resume practice as a barrister and solicitor, with offices in Christchurch, beginning Uo-morrow. Mr. M'Donald will be better remembered perhaps by the general public as former chairman of the Board of Trade, to which he was appointed in 1916 and elected chairman a few weeks later. He was first appointed for three years, and at the end of. that time for another year. When the Board of Trade Act was passed he was appointed for five years. He was also Wheat Controller. He resigned from the Government service on Ist November last in order to take up the managing directorship of the then newlyformed Distributors, Ltd. As Wheat Controller ho had acquired unique experience of the distribution of wheat and flour iji_ New Zealand and the costs of production, manufacture, and distribution of wheat to flour, flour to bread.
