RECENT OUTBREAKS OF DISEASE
LONDON, 30th October. It is officially stated • that during the week-end_ thirteen outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease occurred, making 160 since August. So far 4765 cattle and 6279 sheep have been slaughtered, costing £158,000.
The ports of Glasgow and Greenock have been closed against Canadian and Irisb store cattle. Fat cattle will be allowed to land, subject to slaughter within 96 hours.
