INFORMATION DESIRED
DATE AND PERSONNEL OF
CONFERENCE.
LONDON, 30th October. The "Daily Telegraph's" diplomatic correspondent says that General Smuts spoke at some length after Lord Curzon's statement at the Imperial Conference regarding the replies of the Allied Governments to the proposal to hold a reparations inquiry. Among the points on which additional information would- be welcomed by British official circles from Paris are :—l. The earliest date the Conference might start its labours, this being an allusion to the French definition of the cessation of passive resistance ; 2, the Powers from which the experts would be _ drawn; 3, the exact methods_ by which the exports would be appointed, this meaning how far they would be appointed upon the designations of their Governments.
