In addition to the delegates mentioned in "The Post" of yesterday, Messrs. H. E. M'Elrea (Ashburtonj and J. Gawn (Oamaru) also were presNUMBBR OP CENTRES. It was moved by Mr. Gilbertsou that the New Zealand Boxing Association consist of ten centres, Southland, Otago, Canterbury, Westland, and NokonMarlborough, in the South, and Auckland, Wellington, Taranaki, Hawkes Bay, and Gisborne, in the North. Nelson and Marlborough, it was agreed, should be included in the North lfi;u d, the centres o£ which are to be as pieviously. SIZE OF PURSES. Mr. Aldridge made an appeal on behalf of the smaller associations to the larger towns, whom it was stated v.ere offering to professional boxers purses in the vicinity of £200. Smaller towns were able to secure the services of the same men with a purse of £150 as the inducement, and for the larger centres to offer £200 was prejudicing their cose. Mr. Gilbertson supported the appeal, bun Mr. Heenan pointed out that were the purses to be kept at a low maximum boxers of class might not consider it worth while to visit the Dominion. The maximum was eventiully fired at £200. It was decided that in ordinary amat.eur contests a referee alone ma-; give the decision, and that in bil nmiiteur contests the referee may i...f-.ciate from either inside or outside the ring. GENERAL PROVISIONS. A proposal that all professionals shall be examined before a contest in caso of the existence of old bruises was adopted on the motion of Mr. Beven, who.pointed out that a boxer might claim to have been hit low and as proof of this, exhibit a bruise or mark, which was sustained prior to the bout. At the suggestion of Mr. xildridge, Messrs. B. I. Irwin, H; H. S. Whyte, and J. Kilmartm were appointed to constitute the appeals committee, which is to be stationed at Dunedin. The cost of the reporting and the subsequent, printing of the proceedings at the Dunedin conference was made- a charge on the New Zealand Association, as was also the drafting and preparing of the rules submitted at the conference yesterday. It was decided that it be a recommendation from the conference that the Southland Association request the Wellington Association to forego its right to the 1924 New Zealand Championship Meeting, provided that the 1925 meeting be allocated to Wellington. All delegates had some time ago been served with a draft of the ninety-three rules which it was proposed to consider —rules _ regarding the constitution of the bodies governing the sport, and matters in connection with the conduct of bouts, and except for the amendments noted previously, the draft was adopted. Hearty votes of thanks were accorded Mr. J W Heenan and the other members of the Rules Committee who had assisted in compiling tha drafts. Special mention was made of the efforts of M 7 r-,.. W- G- Talbot, secretary of the Wellington Association, to whom the holding of the conference was stated by Mr. Heenan to be solely due.
