HANDY ELECTRICAL DEVICES.

There are a great many small electrical appliances now to be obtainedvfor household use. Of these, a special group of great utility are the varieties of portable table cooking implements, by means of which the necessary cooking for one or two persons can be done in a sittingroom or actually on the table. The simplest of these is the disc stove, with

either solid top or open top heating element. JFi-ying or boiling.can be done on this. The more elaborate stoves have heating elements both on top and underneath, so that boiling and roasting or grilling can take place at the same time. By means of such a. stove quite an elaborate meal can be prepared. ' A very useful electrical device is a combined heating radiator and cooking stove. The" appliance can be used equally well in either capacity. The electric chafing dish provides tlie means of producing savoury breakfasts or suppers with the least possible trouble. The chafing dish is particularly useful for Sunday night suppers. If all ingredients, etc., are measured out and placed on a tray in readiness a delicious meal can be prepared in a few minutes. A cooking device which is not sufficiently appreciated in this country is the electric waffle iron. Waffles are a form of batter cakes cooked in a special pan, and make a moat delicious dish for breakfast or an evening meal. They are very economical and a great favourite when.once tried. •
