Bishop (secretary of the Coal Mine Owners' Association), Macbride Lock, and Whittle (district miners' delegates to the recent conference). Various points of the dispute were traversed, sometimes a bit heatedly, but on'the whole in a manner calculated to give the publio a good understanding ,of the poaitioa from the points of view of the contending parties. A committee was set up to endeavour to devise some means by which an amicable settlement of the dispute could be effected.
