BOXING

TO-NIGHT'S TOURNAMENT.

| Everything points to a- very successful boxing tournament which is being promoted to-night under the auspices of the local . Boxing Association. The principal contest is between Volaire and Blackburn, and there will be four amateur preliminaries, among which the present heavyweight champion, M'Cormick, will be appearing against M'Piae, the local champion. The box oiTice has had a very busy time since the plan opened on Wednesday last, and indications are that seats wilL be at a premium. On tin's account patrons are advised to make a point of attending at the doors early. Ticket-holders for all parts will be admitted at 7. o'clock, while sales of tickets outside the hall will be from 7.15. The referee will be Mr. Earl Stewart, and the judges have been appointed for the vaiious bouts from among the visiting delegates to the conference, which is sitting in Wellington to-day.
