PARAMOUNT THEATRE.
.Those who visit the Paramount Theatre in the course of the next few days will be kept in long suspense before the title, of the principal picture, ?'The Shock, is explained. Up till within a few minutes of the concluding scenes the title is somewhat enigmatical, but the, whole thing is explained by the occurrence of one of the most disastrous events in. American history. Another picture is "Partners of the Sunset," a story of ranch life in America. Of Winifred La France, the commediene who is to open for a season at the Paramount Theatre on Friday, the "New York' Star" says : "Winifred La France captivates her audience nightly with her amusing songs. Her grotesque- gestures and mannerisms,^ her beautiful coetumes, her pleasing' figure, and wonderful personality, and establishes herself one of the outstanding figures of the etage today. Miss La France is" a favourite with Wellington audience. Seats may be reserved at the Utility or at the theatre. . . . . ' ,
