WASHINGTON, 13th October lhe American Government will take no cognisance of the suggestion made by Air. Lloyd George during bis speeches in Canada that the United States and .Britain should arrive at an unwritten understanding- designed to prevent war President Coolidge, although recognising that Mr. Lloyd George was the former 1 rime Minister of Britain, and is sti!) the mouthpiece of a considerable portion of the British Empire, feels that such suggestions do not come within the official cognisance ol the American Government, unless made by the British Government, or one of its active representatives.
