Chilled Beef—Argentine, fores 4d, hinds 7d; Uruguayan, fores 31d, hinds o£d. Other meats unchanged.

The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated 12th October, 1023 advising Smlthfleld delivered prices at that date as follow:— -:;-

"Prime Canterbury Lamb—29-3Glb, 10M per Ib; 37-421b, lojd; 43-50 Ib, 9Jd: second quality lambs, lOd per lb; other selected brands of 'v 2? b\ 29"361b> lold; 37"421b > 10»d- Although difficult to forecast market, it is considered that it will remain steady at these prices. Mutton: Lightweight wethers, Bid per lb; medium weight wethers, 8d per 'lb- heavy weight wethers, 7-id per lb; ewes, 6W per lb Ox beef: Fores, 2Jd per lb, hinds 4}d per lb."

The Bank of New Zealand, Produce Department, has received the following advice from its London office under date 12th October • "Mutton market is quiet, with prices firm The market for lamb is expected to go a little lower. Beef is in little better demand. Wethers, light, 7}d to Sd; heavy, 6id to 7td; ewes, sjd to old; lamb. 10d to lid; seconds, Ojd to lOd; ox, liuids, 4Jd to tjd; fores, 2Jd to 3d; cow, hinds, SJd to 4Jd; tores, 2Jd to
