WELLINGTON.
Wellington Club officially opened its season. The opening was declared by Mr. F. Grady, president, who welcomed visitors, and , thanked members for once again honouring him by electing him president. He spoke in reminiscent terms of the progress of the game over a: period of many years in Wellington, and on the clianges in fashion in the game, the most noticeable of which was the change in racquets. He pictured some now youthful member in days to come causing merriment by telling how he had once played with a racquet composed of wooden frames and gut strings.
