WHANGAREI, This Day. The Whangarei races were continued in dull but rainless weather. The course was good and the attendance large. Results:—
Kaupi Handicap, of 125 soys; five furlongs.—Muria, 7.0, 1; Bright Gift, 7.0, 2; Praiseworthy, 6.7, 3. Scratched : Sir Burnett, Winning Lass, Lady Frederick, Gum Chips. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 3 4-ssec.
Marsden Handicap, of 125 soys; one mile.—Just Quietly, 7.9, 1; Pretty' Man, 8.11, 2; Shortland, 8.0, 3. The ouly starters. Won by a length. Time, limn 45 2-ssec.
Poroti Hurdles, of 150 soys; one mile and three-quarters.—Scottish Knight, 10.12, 1; Elstow, 10.6, 2; Mahgoloire, 9.0, 3. Scratched: Pera Peta. Won by a length and a half. Time, 3min 25sec.
